Send me a picture, win a magnum!

This month I'd like to see your absinthe-inspired photos - there's only one rule - keep them clean (enough)! Otherwise the sky's your limit. Entertain me, amaze me, seduce me - call on our emerald muse and get creating.

Email your answers to me at greenfairy@seborabsinth.com by 28th February 2007. You’ll be able to check out my favourites here in the competition archives.

Last month I asked you to write a limerick beginning with the line 'There once was a bottle of absinthe.' There were lots of complaints that nothing rhymed with 'absinthe' - well I like to give you a real challenge, make you work for that magnum. Good effort those who tried to make the word 'plinth' interesting and/or funny! Most people just didn't bother to make it rhyme, like our illustrious winner Jack Shreves. Congratulations Jack, a magnum's on its way!

Winning Entry:

There once was a bottle of absinthe
in which resided a fairy of green
I opened the top
she came out with a pop
and showed me pleasures that I've never seen.
By Jack Shreves

Here are this month's runners-up - you can view all other entries on the Absinth Adventures Stories Archive!!

Runners-up:

There was once a bottle of Absinthe
That belonged to the Nuns in Penzance
One day they decided to drink it
And visit the Monks in France
Don't you know France has banned this liquor?
A young Monk announced in dismay
Oh S*d it said Sister Maria
Lets go for a roll in the hay!!
By N Rapkins

There once was a bottle of absinth
So sparkly and green on the shelf
It was snowing a white-out blizzard that day
So she said "I think I can drink this myself"!

The absinth was opened with ceremony and glee
while the cold wet  snow piled up outside
"I'm so happy", she thought, "that it's only me,
that gets this fine chance to imbibe"

The fireplace is lit and the blizzard is blowing
The snow it is sparkly and the absinth is glowing
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
but a troop of green fairies in winter snow gear

The pick-up is buried outside in a drift
already??  so soon?? thanks to the green fairy for
such a fine lift.

And, Oh, how we're merry and enjoying the show
My green fairy friends, myself, and snow

There once was a bottle of absinth that sat on the shelf
now it's fueling imagination for the green snow fairies and myself.
