August 2009
So it’s been a while and I have no doubt that all of my faithful Sebor devotees have missed my enchanting ramblings… I have some particularly exciting news this month; we have been busy in the Czech bohemian mountains using a recipe over 100 years old to brew an authentic handmade bitter! A bitter differs from Absinth in that it contains more wormwood – giving it that bitter taste. We are proud to say that our bitter has the maximum permitted levels of “wormwood” (artemisia absinthium) at 35mg/kg, and still contains absolutelty no artificial colours or flavours.
Did you know that the distinctive Sebor square glass bottle that more than twice outsells other Absinth brands combined now has an equally beautiful sister. The Sebor bitter is a blend of 13 herbs, alcohol and spring water and the all important maximum amount of wormwood allowed in a bitter, that’s 35mg/kg of thujone. It still has a beautiful and natural emerald green colour and a loverly “louche” when ice water is added.

In the last newsletter I asked you to answer the following two questions:
(1) What ingredient does Antica Sambuca and Sebor Absinth share?
(2) Where does Sebor Absinth come from? (No, ‘from the bottle’ doesn’t count...)
This first correct answer and the winner winner was...
...Sarah Rust. Congratulations a bottle of sebor is on its way to you as we speak!
This month you’ll have to show some bottle if you’re to have any chance of winning the magic potion! Tell us about your most incredible Sebor Absinth experience. The story most in the spirit of Sebor will win a bottle and be published on the Sebor website and can continue to enjoy the Sebor experience on us!
This month in order to get you in the Absinth minded spirit, we are giving away free capes and horns when you buy two bottles or more of Sebor Absinth or Sebor Bitter. We want to see pictures so please do not hesitate to send them to infosebor@hi-spirits.com and who knows what the fairy might give. In order to take us up on this fantastic offer simply write ‘I NEED THE HORN’ in the comments box on checkout and your horns and cape will be winging their way to you with your order.

Sebor is all about original concoctions and we particularly enjoyed this suggestion:
